Director of Finance

We are seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to oversee the financial operations of our organization. This role is responsible for financial reporting, budget preparation, payroll approvals, cash disbursement oversight, and reconciliations across multiple funds. The Director of Finance will work closely with various departments, compile budget requests, and present financial data to key stakeholders, including executive leadership and finance committees.

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Finance:

• Oversee the finance department, supervising a team of six employees
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports to executive leadership and finance committees.
• Approve payroll on a weekly basis and ensure payroll files are uploaded and approved in the bank.
• Manage the disbursement of cash, vendor payments, and weekly check runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Oversee the reconciliation of multiple funds and financial accounts.
• Lead the annual budget preparation process, gathering departmental requests, compiling data, and generating spreadsheets and reports for review and publication.
• Participate in special financial projects, including shared responsibilities for grant management and expenditure reporting.

Preferred Qualifications of the Director of Finance:

• BA or MA in Finance or Accounting
• Strong proficiency in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and payroll processing.
• Experience with Munis
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
